A Special Thanks
SCSARDA
is grateful for the
tremendous coverage given
the successful search for
Michael Auberry. We are even
more grateful that he is
alive and safe with his
family.
Misha and Gandalf and have
spent many hours of training
for this moment, but we
would like to remember that
all participants in a search
effort are the heroes.
For every dog team who finds
a lost person because they
are properly trained and
have been placed in the
right search area, there are
scores of others with
similar training who have
not found the person in a
different area because the
person is simply not
there. The information
provided by NOT finding the
lost person in a sector
greatly assists search
management in narrowing down
the search area and
assigning new resources as
the search grows older.
Most search dog handlers
invest a great deal of
personal time and money in
training to develop the
skills needed to provide
this service and are not
reimbursed for their
costs. These teams can
always put contributions of
time and money to good use.
Please support your local K9
Search and Rescue Team in
any way you can.
